Released in 2020, Batch 9 Colonel E. H. Taylor Barrel Proof bourbon is another prime offering of sublime whiskey from Buffalo Trace Distillery. Aged a minimum of 7 years in new white oak with #4 charring, Batch 9 EHTBP is slated as NAS bourbon with a finished barrel strength of a bold 130.3 proof. This select quaff is said to be composed of BTD’s #1 mash bill containing roughly 75% corn, 10% rye, and 15% malted barley and has a nose of roasted pecans in butter, brown sugar, and hazes of smoked tobacco over crisp apples and aged oak. The palate is spicy with notes of cinnamon balanced by hits of vanilla bean, dark fruits, and fire-roasted caramel.
