The Beefeater Distillery traces its roots back to 1820 in London where it was purchased (formerly Chelsea Distillery) by pharmacist James Burrough. He produced several different brands of gin, the most famous of which was Beefeater named for the Beefeater’s of the Tower of London. The brand was purchased by Pernod Ricard in 2005, which asserts a large reinvesment program in the brand.
Wet Gin is a Beefeater product that, rather than the traditional dry, has a sweeter “wet” flavor. It gains its flavor from an infusion of pear.
