First launched in 2011, Absolut Elyx is not a flavor but rather a distillation method that they say hearkens to a 1929 copper rectification still. It is made from hand-selected wheat grown on their own farms. It is meant to offer an “incredibly soft” texture or mouthfeel. According to the article in Tasting Panel Magazine (May, 2013), all ingredients for the vodka are sourced within 15 miles of the estate distillery where the ancient copper pot still that is used for production does its work.
