This bottling was done by Seagram’s/Four Roses/Frankfort Distilling Co. at the Louisville distillery which was closed in 1983. The Frankfort Distillery name comes from a DBA (Doing Business As) designation that is used in the industry to keep old brands associated with their original manufacturing company. The Frankfort Distillery existed only on paper by the time this bourbon was bottled. This is a cousin to the original Eagle Rare bottlings that were done in this time period at the Seagrams/Four Roses/Old Prentice Lawrenceburg location which is now where Four Roses is currently distilled. The Eagle Rare brand was then sold to Buffalo Trace in 1989.
