Originating from Frankfort, Kentucky, this distinguished wheated bourbon is part of Buffalo Trace’s Experimental Collection. Distilled in 2001 and aged for eight years, it was uniquely re-barreled in 2009 in a freshly emptied rye barrel crafted from white oak with #4 char staves by Independent Stave. This process imparts a mellow texture that transitions into soft rye notes, culminating in a pronounced dry rye finish. Bottled at 63.5% ABV and un-chill filtered, it retains a robust character enhanced by its sour mash recipe. The barrel experienced a 33.9% evaporation, contributing to its concentrated flavor profile. This 375ml bottle exemplifies meticulous craftsmanship and innovative aging techniques. Enjoy responsibly.
