Damrak gin describes itself as a “exceptionally smooth” and designed with a less pronounced juniper profile than traditional dry gins. The gin is produced at Lucasl Bols and said to be a reenactment/resurrection of a centuries-old recipe found in the distillery. The name “Damrak” is a translation of “inner harbour” and an acknowledgment of the enlightenment-era booming international trade business in Amsterdam, a volume of which was in spices that are used in gin.
