The Elixir d’Anvers is an alcoholic beverage produced in Belgium by FX Beukelaer . Founded in 1863 , it responded to the emerging demand for supposedly less harmful to health than those usually consumed then even adorned with various preventive and curative alcohols. The Elixir d’Anvers is now served as an aperitif or digestif .

Thirty-two plants and herbs are macerated in pure alcohol and sugar, then all is aged in oak barrels the last five months while manufacturing.
