The company, T&A McClelland’s, got its start in 1818 as a whisky blender and exporter. Over 150 years later, they were purchased by Morrison Bowmore Distillers, and in 1986 the McClelland’s Single Malt range was launched using one distillery from the new owner’s portfolio for each region. Initially, only the Lowland, Highland and Islay whiskies were offered, but the line was so successful the Speyside bottling was added in 1999.
