“Gooderham’s” little brown jug. Gooderham & Worts Ltd is the oldest distilling firm in Canada. On July 27, eighteen thirty-two an account was opened & a little later the famous windmill was completed. James Worts and his son had arrived in Toronto from Suffolk, England in eighteen thirty-one. The Gooderham & Worts Company was in business from eighteen thirty-two until 1990. The old plant and buildings have been converted to the historical Distillery District in downtown Toronto.
