Bourbon Street was introduced by Seagram around 1990-plus or minus a year. It was a blend of 51% Indiana bourbon and 49% straight rye whiskey, Both made at Seagram’s Lawenceburg Indiana distillery. It was introduced to several states for test marketing, “they where primarily southern states. Almost immediately after introduction there was controversy and legal issues relative to the name, “№ 1 Bourbon Street”- and the famous New Orleans street of the same name. It didn’t last long on the market, Probably less than six months. It was only one bottling of the brand and Seagram recalled all the bottles it could locate from the retail stores and destroyed them. This is one of the rare bottles that survived.
