Pikesville Rye used to be Pikesville Maryland Rye whiskey until it closed in 1972. The brand was purchased by Heaven Hill Distilleries, who produces it today in Kentucky. Now with Heaven Hill, Pikesville Rye is described as “Representative of the other great rye whiskey style, the Maryland or Potomac style” with a taste that is “spicy” and “full bodied.” It appears to have been re-branded and re-formulated, now appearing at a striking 110 proof.
