When the depression encouraged developers to turn a promising real estate project into a golf course, the Plandome Country Club was born. Originally organized in 1930, this ‘Spartan Club brought up in the depression” opened its doors in May of 1931. Today, Plandome boasts over 600 members, phenomenal cuisine, swimming, tennis, platform tennis and a beautiful and challenging golf course.
