The sugarcane juice comes from French Antilles, most particularly in Martinique; its distillation is also achieved locally. However its aging and bottling is made in France.

Created in 1900, the rum Mangoustan is a rum from the institutions Sinon Frere (Paris). It was elaborate following a recipe created by Napoleon Bonaparte.
