Senior Curacao is the original orange liqueur from the island of Curacao. It uses the Laraha orange, which is the evolution of the Valencia brought by conquering Spain in 1499 but rendered bitter (and inedible) in the new climate. The peels of the Laraha or dried in the sun and yield an oil considered to have an immensely pleasurable, orange aroma. This is the base of the curacao.
